It was somewhere around the fourteenth Century that the Catholic
Church began celebrating November the first as ALL SAINTS DAY.
It appears historically that they called the mass they celebrated
in behalf of all saints "ALL'HALLOWED'MASS." The evening
prior to it was dubbed "ALL HALLOWED EVENING." It somehow came
to be known as HALLOW'EEN. Hallowed Evening meant Holy Evening,
but it has become a traditional costume party glorifying the Devil
his demons, his witches,
and sorcerers, tarot card readers, crystal ball gazers, and any
other worker of inquity people can dress their children up in.
Children are very impressionable. It is a great evil for parents
to make a fun thing of dressing them up in charactors they ought
not want them to become in their lifetime. Christians are very
confused about what to do on halloween because all of the children of
the world are having such a fun time. Some churches offer substitute
parties. But the better idea might be to dress your children up as
saints or as angels or bible hero's and have them help you meet
the children of the world at your door to give them tracts and
colorful Bible booklets with an encouragement to live for the Lord.
