There are many able bodied men and women among the homeless populations of the world. Inability to cope with responsibility for their own well being is most often the root cause.

Once the immature and irresponsible find themselves homeless, they unfortunately find it attractive to not have to put their hands to the plough regularly to earn their own keep; after finding the weather favorable most of the time on the West Coast to sleeping outdoors free of charge; with welfare agencies and charities willing to feed and clothe them along with other favors.

We are told in holy Scripture, "If a man does not work, he does not eat." The deeper meaning of the text tells us a man who does not work will not develop a mature and virtuous charactor.

Many Christians desire to feed the homeless without realizing many of them are able bodied and ought not to be fed food they have not earned. God created hunger as a motivator to drive people to plough the fields so they can eat good. Feeding able bodied vagrants only encourages them to degenerate into worse individuals.

There is no reason to not respect a man who lives out of doors and earns his own bread, but such are rare.

Search out any able bodied person's request for a handout before making matters worse for them by giving when they ought to be earning their own provisions. Otherwise, you might find yourself judged by the Lord for partaking of their sins.

The fact a man has served in Viet Nam or any other war zone for his country does not qualify him to become idle and beg. If he was a man in the Viet Nam war, then he ought to be a man back in his own country in peace time and earn his own bread. If you give anything other than a verbal reproof or a rebuke to him, you are doing him an injustice spiritually. The man you are looking at in the picture is perfectly healthy. It's time for him to take up his cross and earn his own living as a profitable citizen.
