The world has gotten smaller since global communications and travel became possible, and with people going to and fro worldwide we have seen one guru after another come to America to pick the pockets of the gullible. He is one of many since the Maharishi Mahest Yogi made himself famous as the guru to the Beatles in their heyday.

One of the more successful and well known guru's is Ravi Shankar who seeks to please everyone by approving of every religion and by making each of his followers into guru's. This is an easy thing to do since he knows nothing of God, so he really has nothing to teach those in attendance at his meetings except to tell them to make themselves guru's. After all, that is what he did.

Just to show you what a bag of wind he is, one of those in attendance at a recent meeting asked him, "Your holiness, what would you have us do?"

"Remember you are not alone," he replied.

Excuse me. You can put any meaning you want to a statement like that one. That's what a guru does. He speaks sweet nothings.

But he does attack the Bible he says he represents when he says, "Nobody's going to fry in hellfire." That's got to be very comforting for sinners, at least for a little while until they wake up in the heat of eternal torments.

His cure for the world. Breathing techniques that he says foster contentment and peace. This in turn is supposed to improve society as a whole.

When breathing techniques foster contentment and peace for the wicked, does he suppose they will cease their wickedness? If prison wardens were able to force their prisoners to use breathing techniques, do you think they would cease being criminals?

What a wind bag? Sinners are so desperate for leaders who reject the gospel of Jesus Christ and his call for sinners everywhere to repent of their sins, that they will listen to anyone who can produce the illusion they are on some higher spiritual plane.

Shankar says "truth is spherical." Are we supposed to believe truth has a form. Of course, Jesus is the way, THE TRUTH, and the Life. He has form, but he's not spherical.

"Truth is spherical rather than linear; so it has to be contradictory." He says. Well, we know who truth is, and he is not contradiction. It appears certain Shankar is speaking clever words from the spiritual darkness that fills his soul.

When he lands with both feet in hell, the wind will go out of him, and he will no longer be a windbag.

When asked a serious question regarding what politicians or the movie industry could do to improve life, Shankar is left speechless. He is full of spiritual darkness. When the blind lead the blind they all shall fall into the ditch.

He claims to have "ascended into enlightenment" in 1982 after observing ten days of silence. We wish it were that easy. Our Master, Jesus, tells us: "YOU SHALL KNOW THE TRUTH AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE." The Lord does not promise us enlightenment, but he does promise us we can be set free from the darkness of our own selves by learning the truth, something no man born of a woman could do in ten days of silence.

Shankar claims to have transformed the lives of thousands worldwide. We know transforming lives is the work of the holy Ghost.

What a wonderful scheme. Shankar leads the crowds he gathers in chants and in mass meditation. More windbagging. There is no truth in anything he says or does, but he does make himself appear to be holy in white robes with long black hair and beard walking about like a pope among crowds. "MAN LOOKS UPON THE APPEARANCE OF THINGS," but we who believe in the Lord know he looks upon the heart.

Ravi Shankar is a showman. He makes many untrue claims to bring peace into the world and help those in distress. "THE HEART IS DECEITFUL AND DESPERATELY WICKED." Shankar is driven by greed. His meditation hall cost millions of dollors. It is apparently his mega church. A place to gather followers. It makes no difference to Shankar that sitting around in a yoga position produces absolutely no change in the person involved. Fishermen use the bait that works.

Ravi Shankar is a product of media hype and publicity. He learned the art of it well from his guru the Maharishi yogi.

In Shankar's overly inflated ego he has titled himself Sri Sri or the guru of guru's. "PRIDE COMES BEFORE THE FALL" as you may have heard in the sacred Scriptures. Shankar's fall will be into the bottomless pit. A sorry ending for a fraud.
